The Mid-Region Council of Governments / Rio Metro Regional Transit District is accepting resumes for the position of Full-time Train Dispatcher.
The Dispatcher will be responsible for providing the safe efficient movement of trains over the entire New Mexico Rail Runner territory. The Dispatcher’s duties include but are not limited to; scheduling the movement of trains; provide for safe meets and passes; managing unexpected events and emergency situations, to protect the public, railroad employees and railroad property, arranging for the use of track engineering forces to permit timely maintenance while minimizing train delays and providing protection for such. Operation, and maintaining accurate records of train movement and maintenance activities.
Preferred knowledge of Railroad Operating and/or an understanding of the GCOR and all supplemental instruction. In addition, applicants should have experience with technology and computers, to include MS Office, Word and Excel.

Salary DOQ. Employment pending successful background check, clean driving record with no more than one (1) moving violation in the past year, and valid Driver’s License. This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing as provided by the FRA Regulations and maintain a one-year medical card. All new employees are hired subject to a one-year probationary status.
