Vision/Details: I currently own farmland and wish to lease it to a farmer. Our property is located right on the Pecos River and is an easy 40-minute drive (on I-25) from Santa Fe (20 minutes to Las Vegas). We have a growing community of organic farmers in the area.  We would like to see our land used more productively, but do not have the necessary time to put in to it. The land could be used for vegetables, hay & forage, grain, fruit trees, and/or poultry/fowl.

Land-Use History: The land currently contains a vegetable garden with a 14' x 40' hoop house for growing year round, as well as grass pasture.

Soil & Water: High clay content with some areas near the river more loamy. Year round irrigation ditch and 1 acre holding pond.

Desired Farming Practices: Minimum tillage, sustainable, organic, rotational grazing, integrated pest management, and/or permaculture.

Housing: Housing is available.

Acreage: 5-7 acres.

Equipment: Basic gardening tools and one tractor with harrow, blade and gannon. Other equipment can be leased from neighbors.
