This is a listing for the Central New Mexico LandLink program. If you are not familiar with the program please visit the LandLink home page for more information. Reference #: 130 County: Bernalillo Vision/Details: I currently own 1.5 acres that I would like to lease to a farmer. The land may be used for a variety of things, including: vegetables, hay & forage, grain, fruit trees, poultry/fowl, goats/sheep, other animals, etc. I can be available to help with watering plants and feeding animals, if desired. A few cherry trees and one apricot tree grow along the ditch at the back of the property. I prefer the land to remain pesticide-free, since it has been that way as long as it has been in my family. And while permanent structures cannot be built, I am open to someone constructing portable buildings on the property. Land-Use History: The land has primarily been in alfalfa and used for grazing. I stopped growing alfalfa a couple of years ago, because it was too much work for one person. My grandfather used to grow alfalfa, chile, and corn on the property, but he never used any chemicals or insecticides. Soil & Water: The land has excellent soil quality, because it has been farmed since the 1930s/40s. Ditch water is available. Housing: Not available. Acreage: 1.5 acres. Equipment: None. For more information on the listing, or to be connected with the land owner, please contact us at localfoodnm@mrcog-nm.gov or 505-724-3619.
