The cooler weather is officially upon us and the farmers markets are winding down.  Despite the decrease in growing this time of year, there are still a variety of great local food and agriculture events coming up this month.

  • The 2008 New Mexico Beekeepers Association Annual Meeting will be held on November 7th and 8th at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church.  More Information

  • Hubbell House Lecture Series - last one of the season!  November 15th, 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Join Courtney White, Executive Director of the Quivira Coalition and author of Revolution on the Range - The Rise of a New Ranch in the American West for a book reading and signing.  More information
  • Los Ranchos Growers Market: Don't miss the last market of the regular season schedule on Saturday November 8th, from 8 am to 11 am.  The Los Ranchos Winter Market will then be held the 2nd Saturday of each month December through April, 10 am to noon. The market is held at 6718 Rio Grande Blvd NW. More information/directions
  • Last day for the Nob Hill Growers Market is Thursday November 6th, at Lead and Morningside in Nob Hill.  Get there early for the best selection. More information
  • 2008 Maize Maze at Rio Grande Community Farm: Wind your way through this year's corn maze, which features a cottonwood tree, an owl, and sunflowers. The maze is open Friday evenings and Saturdays and Sundays and is great fun for the whole family. Last day for the maze is November 9th! See the RCGF website for hours/directions .

And don't forget to visit the variety of Albuquerque area farmers markets, many of which end at the beginning of this month.
