Rio Metro is the regional entity for transit services in Sandoval, Bernalillo and Valencia Counties. 

Currently, Rio Metro is undergoing a transit service planning effort to allow citizens the opportunity to present views regarding transit services and possible methods to fund these services.  

Why is this important?  The concentration of new jobs in Bernalillo County and population growth in surrounding counties will result in even more workers traveling between Bernalillo County and nearby areas. In 2004, it took approximately 45 minutes to drive from downtown Belen to Downtown Albuquerque. In 2025, it is estimated that the same trip will double!  As a result, Rio Metro is working to plan and expand services throughout the region.  You can be a part of this by learning more about the planning effort or attending a meeting.  You can also submit your comments online about the type of service you'd like to see.

Sandoval Easy Express 

Rio Metro also funds transit connections to various rail stations in conjuction with the New Mexico Rail Runner Express.  Rio Metro cooperatively operates the Sandoval Easy Express.
