Learn How to Grow Young Farmers Print E-mail

little_girlcropped.jpgDon’t miss the next Agriculture Collaborative meeting: Growing Young Farmers, Supporting Youth in Agriculture. Meet Richard Brandt from Dragon Farms who will talk about his work with high school kids from the South Valley Academy.  Patrick Staib from UNM Service Learning Program will discuss his interaction with college-age farmers and Sanchez Farms.  As 4-H programs have been so successful in rural communities, Elliot Sasche with Bernalillo County 4-H will discuss ways he is engaging youth in the metro area.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday June 11, 2008 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Mid-Region Council of Governments, 809 Copper Avenue, NW. Please come and dialogue with us on how to grow young farmers. If you are involved in a program that engages youth or know someone who is, please join us to share your experience. See you on the 11th. Thanks!
