SAN YSIDRO DAY

Saturday May 14, 2011

Please join us in celebrating San Ysidro Day, a centuries old tradition in New Mexico honoring the patron saint of farmers by blessing the acequias and farms.

Procession begins at 10am at the San Ysidro Carousel on the corner of Isleta Blvd SW and Arenal SW. Musicians, dancers, and religious leaders will lead us to Sanchez Farm (corner of Arenal & Lopez). Everyone can participate in the ancient blessing of the acequia, farm, and tools. Following the ceremony, there will be a mantanza! Food and drinks are free with donations supporting the South Valley Regional Association of Acequias.
