NMSU Sunflower Workshop (Cochiti), 2/16, 5:00pm Print E-mail

Time to get this project moving again.... we have the same group of experts from New Mexico State University ready to travel to us for the Sunflower Workshop that was cancelled due to bad weather back in early December.  (THEY MUST BE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS !)

LET'S MEET  on Thursday, February 16 in the cafeteria of Cochiti Elementary School.

LET'S EAT some frito pies at 5:15 PM

AND LISTEN TO our expert agriculture agents starting at 6 PM

AND BE READY TO ASK all our hard questions on how-to:

-- introduce this new crop safely to our area

-- rotate this new crop with alfalfa to best advantage

-- harvest this new crop with Project equipment

-- manage pests and soil nutrients

-- make money by using NMSU marketing expertise and the Pena Blanca Sunflower Project to sell and promote the produce of the new sunflower crop

Come and take advantage of all this brain power in one place at the same time!

DIRECTIONS:

The Cochiti Elementary school is on Highway 16 not far from the intersection with Highway 22. Those traveling from the south will exit I-25 at Santo Domingo, drive all the way through Pena Blanca on Hwy 22, turn right at Hwy 16 (sign reads "santa fe") and turn right into the school parking lot.  From the north, exit I-25 at Cochiti Lake and Pueblo, bearing right onto Hwy 16 and approx 7 miles to the school parking lot which will be on your left. There will be Sunflower Arrow signs on 16 and 22 and at the entrance to the school.
