Open Space Visitor Center, followed by a Traditions Garden Volunteer orientation from 3 to 4 pm

Albuquerque, NM—  Help Connect People to Place at the Open Space Visitor Center

The City of Albuquerque Open Space Visitor Center is seeking volunteers.  The Open Space Visitor Center is an interpretive hub for the Open Space program, lands, and resources.  Visitors enjoy educational exhibits, wildlife fields, a Traditions garden, art displays, Bosque trails and a variety of talks, workshops, demonstrations and entertainment.

The next volunteer training is scheduled for Saturday, March 3rd, 2012, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm with a half-hour lunch break.  Volunteers will enjoy information on the history and geography of the Major Public Open Space program, the history and surroundings of the Visitor Center, a tour of the facility, and a description of volunteer responsibilities.

An outside tour is planned for part of the training; please dress appropriately and bring a water bottle.  Light refreshments will be served, but you are encouraged to bring a lunch.

There will be a one-hour orientation to becoming a Garden Volunteer in the Open Space Visitor Center Traditions Garden following the training. See attached flyer.
