Supporting Business and Promoting the Workforce

If you’re an employer in central New Mexico, then you know that the biggest challenge in keeping up with a fast-growing economy is hiring skilled and motivated workers. New Mexico Workforce Connection Business and Career Centers are a one-stop resource for locating qualified employees. We serve a four-county area that contains nearly half of the state’s population, and we can provide assistance for jobs ranging from construction to technology.

Valuable business collaborations have been established through the dedicated staff of the New Mexico Workforce Connection Business and Career Centers. A wide variety of tailored services and specialized assistance ensure that businesses achieve successful results built on the New Mexico Workforce Connection business-driven framework.

TriCore "TriCore and the University of New Mexico Continuing Education department have partnered to present a nine week program that will train thirteen Phlebotomy Apprentices who, upon successful completion, will be hired as Phlebotomists at one of TriCore’s hospital laboratories.

The WCCNM’s partner agencies contributed by providing applicants for the program. A majority of our Phlebotomy Apprentices was sourced through the Albuquerque Job Corps. This initative would not be possible without funding from the WCCNM’s Customized Training Program. TriCore looks forward to future cooperative opportunities with the WCCNM."

Services Offered

One-stop Centers: The New Mexico Workforce Connection Business and Career Centers offer employers access to qualified, trained, pre-screened applicants and resources at one location.
On-line Convenience: Too busy to deal with hiring needs during regular business hours? On-line, you can: define skills and post job orders to find potential candidates; research labor market information on salaries and economic data; set up a virtual recruiter search agent to automatically find candidates within New Mexico that match the job skills of the job order; communicate with job seekers, case managers, training providers, and others within the system; etc. Email registration is required for some of the services. Qualified Applicant Referrals: We pre-screens applicants so employers can skip the details and immediately view specific skills, work history and dependability of potential hires.
On-the-Job Training: We provide job training services for underemployed individuals. Employers who hire an eligible individual under a contract will be reimbursed for 50% of that employee’s wages for the length of their contract.
Mini Job Fairs: We can set up a mini job fair to showcase your company so that potential employees can find out first-hand what your business has to offer.
Layoff Assistance: We can address mass layoffs by providing services to workers dislocated by plant closures and layoffs, as well as regular dislocated worker activities (see Rapid Response).
