TechHire New Mexico is an innovative job training program designed to establish a pipeline of well-trained IT professionals for employers in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia Counties.
We prepare job seekers for a career in Information Technologies by providing job placement, customized accelerated technical training, apprenticeships, and work experience opportunities.
On March 10, 2015, President Obama announced his TechHire initiative, a new campaign to expand local tech sectors by building tech talent pipelines in communities across the country.
TechHire is a public-private initiative in American cities, states, and rural communities to get more Americans rapidly trained for well-paying technology jobs. This multi-sector effort to fill critical local IT jobs is a call to action―to empower a diverse array of Americans with the skills they need to fill these jobs, including through rapid nontraditional approaches like “coding boot camps” and high-quality online courses.
The TechHire initiative launched in 2015 with 21 communities and over 300 employers committed to providing Americans with the accelerated, nontraditional technical training they need to obtain better jobs and achieve better futures. Since the launch of TechHire, the initiative has grown to 50 communities and more than 600 employers, committed to improving the lives of Americans.
