[ARCHIVED] Achieving Greater Agriculture and Natural Resource Resiliency in New Mexico!

Resilience in NM AgPlease join NM First, the Bureau of Business and Economic Research, Accion, and the Agriculture Collaborative for a discussion on financial tools for New Mexico Ag.

Meeting Details:

  • Date: March 7, 2019
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
  • Location: Mid-Region Council of Governments

Recently, the University of New Mexico Bureau of Business & Economic Research (BBER) conducted a survey to analyze the marketplace of local agriculture loans in the state. BBER, in conjunction with Accion, will present the findings of the survey, and will participate in a discussion about advancing robust food and agriculture systems that are locally embedded, that offer healthy and affordable food, and that grow a resilient and diverse local farm and ranch economy.

The effort is part of the Resilience in New Mexico Agriculture Strategic Plan (the Ag Plan). Two subcommittees working to implement the plan will participate, the Supply/Value Chain Committee—working to improve capacity for existing and new produce and meat markets throughout New Mexico, and the Ag Loans & Lending Committee-- working to ensure farmers and ranchers of every ability and in every community have access to financial tools that promote their success.

Your voice in this discussion is tremendously valuable, and we hope you’ll join in the discussion.  Refreshments will be provided.

Please RSVP by March 1, 2019. If you need anything in advance of the meeting, please contact Grant Taylor by email or by phone at (575) 318-8401.
