[ARCHIVED] Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Survey

CEDS

Mid-Region Council of Governments kicks off regional Open Houses for Economic Development

(Albuquerque, NM – October 20, 2025) –The Mid-Region Council of Governments is hosting a series of Open Houses throughout the central NM to gather vital information for the 2025 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy – or “CEDS”. The CEDS serves as the region’s premier economic development planning tool helping communities in the region apply for critical federal economic development funding, and it is updated every five years.

“We want as much input as possible from local residents, businesses and organizations,” said Augusta Meyers, MRCOG Economic Development Program Manager. “The last CEDS was developed just prior to the Covid 19 pandemic, so in effect, we are dealing with a whole different economic landscape here in central New Mexico now, and we need the public’s input to help shape this next phase of the CEDS.”

Cave, MRCOG Executive Director. “Not only does it bring together local governments and stakeholders to help spur economic development and create good jobs... but a robust CEDS empowers local communities to pursue game-changing state and federal funding opportunities,” added Cave.
