The Mid-Region Council of Governments is accepting resumes for the position of Yard Master (Santa Fe Territory) for the Rio Metro Regional Transit District. Posting will remain open until filled.
(Albuquerque – November 13, 2025) – The numbers are out, and we now know that after several years of post-COVID fluctuations, the work-from-home culture – which peaked in 2021 at over 18% - seems to be leveling off at 13.3%.
“This settling of the rate of work from-home-matches national trends”, said Nathan P. Masek, Senior Transportation Planner II for the Mid-Region Council of Governments. “It is likely due to a combination of flexible work schedules allowing fewer days in the office, or meetings and other business appointments being handled virtually”, adds Masek.
This is notable because this new rate represents an approximate 10% increase over the historical rate, which had hovered around 4%-5% for many years. Extensive charts and graphs are included in the recently released 2024 Traffic Flow Maps by the Mid-Region Metropolitan Planning Organization.
“These results are extremely important to the region”, said Dewey V. Cave, Executive Director of the Mid-Region Council of Governments. “This information is used by local agencies, the media, and many others to make informed decisions based on actual local traffic data collected under our program.
